The former Inter Milan striker went down in the 87th minute and was taken off the field on a stretcher.
Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid revealed that Martins could be sideline three to six weeks.
“It doesn’t require surgery,” Schmid told reporters after Seattle’s Thursday practice.
“So that’s a positive situation. But we’ve got to see how many weeks [it’s going to take].”
Martins' injury comes at a very bad time when fellow striker Clint Dempsey is expected to miss a couple of games after he was shown a red card in the Tuesday night deefat.
The Super Eagles striker just recovered from fractured nose he suffered in Sounders'1-0 victory over Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, May 27.
Martins was wearing a protective facemask as a result of the fractured.
