In Edo Court Jails Lucky Igbinedion’s Brother, Former Aide: Naija Why Was Igbinedion granted Bail And The Aide Was Not

A Federal High Court in Benin on Thursday, April 30, sentenced Michael Igbinedion, a younger brother to the former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion, to six years imprisonment for money laundering.

He was convicted alongside Patrick Eboigbodin, who was Luck Igbinedion’s aide when he was the governor of Edo State.

The presiding judge, Justice A. M. Liman, also sentenced Eboigbodin to 20 years behind walls for money laundering without an option of fine.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Igbinedion, Eboigbodin and four companies on an 81 counts bothering on money laundering.

They were said to have committed the offences during the administration of the former governor.

The court ordered that the assets of one of the companies, PML Limited, be forfeited to the Federal Government.
