Today, May 18, 2015, Nigerian music legend 2face Idibia has taken a swipe the the political leaders of the country in a new Twitter rant.

The award winning music superstar stated that none of the country's past governors and presidents have achieved anything worth applauding. "Since 1999 till date the government of Nigeria both federal and state have done  nothing worth celebrating considering the amount  of money" he tweeted.

2face who is the head of the Vote Not Fight campaign also said that the Nigerian political class has to make sacrifices to make Nigeria a better country. "Sacrifices must be made by all Nigerians especially those in power for us 2 be able 2 stand tall and proud."

He further tweeted that "We need 2 rearrange our way of doing things becos right now we are just penny wise and pound foolish."

2face was also of the opinion that good people people have been in positions to create change in Nigeria, but their surrounding circumstances stopped them. "Some people have tried 2 do good but corruption and saboteurs didn't let them express their vision" read his tweet.

Everyday For The Thief... Man Who Steals Car Parts With His Hummer Jeep Caught In Lagos

It was a case of everyday for a thief, but one for the owner of the property when a highly respected man living in an highbrow estate in Lagos, Harmony Estate in Ifako, Gbagada area of the state, was caught stealing car parts from parked vehicles in the estate in broad daylight.



The man who hitherto had been seen as an example of a hardworking man lives large, driving a Hummer 2 SUV Jeep but unknown to other residents, he as the one putting them in tears anytime they park their vehicles in the streets only to realise that some parts in the cars were removed.



But it was a day of reckoning when the supposedly rich guy was nabbed red handed and parts like vehicle's brain boxes, headlights and other parts were discovered hidden in his jeep.



 His cup was full when the security men smelled a foul play when they saw the man drive into the estate when most people had gone to work and they trailed him only to realise his nefarious acts.

This time, he was not that lucky as he was caught and given a serious beating before he was handed over to the police.

Woman Storms Funeral Home, Repeatedly Stabs The Corpse Of Her Boyfriend’s Ex: SEE WAHALA OH!

Shaynna Sims, 26, reached into the casket of her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend at a funeral home and slashed the dead woman’s face, then smeared her make-up and ran away when family members caught her red-handed. The incident became known to police after a family had complained a body waiting to be interred had been vandalised by an unknown woman.



Sims was arrested on suspicion of illegally dissecting a human body. Later police officers have found a folding knife with the deceased woman’s hair on it, as well as scissors, a box cutter and various makeup items. The attack is alleged to have taken place while the body was in a coffin. Sims is now awaiting her trial and is being held on $20,000 bail, as policeare looking for the attack motive.

According to eyewitnesses, the dead woman’s face was cut from her hairline to the tip of her nose, her makeup was smeared and her hair was on the floor. Funeral director John Wilson giving comments on the incident said: “It’s really unfortunate that it happened.. We have 100 years of experience in this building and nobody’s ever experienced anything like that.”

Two young Indian lovers who whose family were against their relationship because they are not from the same tribe and practiced different religions decided to committed joint suicide.

The bodies of a young couple were found hanging on a tree in the Indian town of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, on the same day the woman was supposed to get married to a man chosen for her by her parents.

The death of Rajneesh Kumar, 21, and Imrana Bano, 18, has sparked questions whether the two committed joint suicide or they were murdered as authorities try to look deeper into the matter.

But close friends are of the view that Kumar and Bano must have committed suicide because they were not given permission by their families to marry each other because they belonged to different communities.

Kumar is Hindu while Bano is Muslim but they did not allow their different religions to come between the love they had for each other, according to a friend close to Kumar. The couple had been missing since the night before they were found dead, police said.

Police said that the couple had been in love for about 4 years, but their families were against them getting married.

Bano’s family found her a man of her community, and she was supposed to get married on the day of her death.

In Niger State Lawmakers Break Assembly Gate To Impeach Governor

 Police officers in the state locked some of the lawmakers in while yet others were kept from gaining entry into the complex

Lawmakers in Niger State have reportedly broken a padlock used to lock the gate of the State House of Assembly complex in a bid to prevent Governor Babangida Aliyu from being impeached.

The action was reportedly taken to prevent the legislators from forming a quorum with which they could carry out impeachment threats against the governor.

The lawmakers were said to have demanded that the gate be opened and when their request was denied, they proceeded to break the padlock.

“Are we prisoners? Did we beat anyone? Did we cause riot? Why should you lock us in? These people are trying to create trouble when there is no trouble,” some of the legislators said.

The lawmakers are said to be plotting to impeach the governor due to his failure to pay their severance allowances half salary since February this year.

Denrele Edun, the Channel O VJ who sometimes courts controversy with his eccentric style of dressing which includes him wearing feminine attire, and feminine make up says that he is not trying to be a lady.

 In an interview with Encomium, the former Sound City man said it would be against his conscience if he tries to be a woman. "If I was trying to be a lady, I am deceiving my conscience, and living a lie. I am just comfortable with the person I am. I am comfortable with my identity I have built over the years. I am comfortable with the brand that is selling my market" said Denrele.

"I was a bit confused about my identity while growing up. Everyday people would ask me if I was a girl or a boy" admitted the TV host. Even at the university, most time, I open my chest and tell them I will open my trouser too if they can open thiers. We will just end up laughing about it. I like who I am, 

I can't give up Denrele for anything" he said.

Denrele might say he does not want to be a woman, but his outfit at the last AMVCA where he wore a gold dress and rocked blonde attachments. He revealed that the dress he wore was a last minute plan, and he wanted to try something different. He said he wasn't planning on doing a publicity stunt.

It has been rumoured that the wild VJ plans on getting married this year. A female artiste has also been rumoured to be his future bride. Denrele refused to reveal the identity of his future wife but he more or less confirmed that he is engaged.

Stealing From The Dead: Female Banker Amina Magaji Docked For Defrauding Late Emir Of Kano Of N17m

A female banker who connived with two others to steal money from the accounts of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, has been dragged to the court by the EFCC.

A female banker and former account officer to the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, Amina Magaji, and two of her male partners in crime, Haruna Bulama Namadi and Muhammed Abdullahi who is currently at large, have been dragged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), before Justice Faruk Lawan of the Kano State High Court, on the allegation of defrauding the late Emir of over N17 million using fake cheques and forging the monarch's signature.

In its investigations, the anti-graft agency discovered that Magaji who managed the Emir's accounts, had a domiciled account in an old generation banks since 2011 but after the demise of the Emir in 2014, she reactivated the account which had been dormant for forty seven years and started using fake cheques to withdraw monies in bits to the tune of N17, 060,000 with the help of Namadi who was at the time a driver with the bank.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges brought up against them and the presiding judge granted them bail in the sum of N2 million while adjourning the case to May 5 and 6, 2015 for further hearing.

Naked Women Protests Terror, Thugs Brutality In Lagos

Female traders at the Amuwo Odofin market in Lagos have decided to stage a naked protest against the high handed reign of terror of a man against them.

If care is not taken, the trouble lurking at the Amuwo Odofin local government area owned Shopping Complex located at Mile 2 in Lagos State, may blow out of proportion and could spell doom for the operators of the market as market women took to the streets protesting alleged terror and mistreatment, stripped to their under wears, on April 27, chanting solidarity songs against tyranny and oppression.

The source of the trouble is a certain man, Alhaji Saheed Abiola, otherwise known as Zyad 1 Ultimate, whom the traders say has been unleashing a reign of terror on them using his band of thugs and miscreant.

  

According to the market women, Abiola has been making life uneasy for them by imposing unreasonable levies on them, sending his thugs to beat them, having arrogated so much power to himself, even though he was a member of the executives of the market.

The traders in the market said that one of the crimes the man was best known for was ordering his thugs to strip traders and flog them publicly to serve as deterrent to others. Abiola was said to have so cowed many of the traders, that they treat him as a thin-god and anyone who dared to confront him, paid dearly for their effrontery.

Dumb Crook: Robber Arrested After Returning To Complain That The Gold Chain He Stole Was Fake

A dumb criminal, Daniel Sion Palmer, who attacked and dispossessed a tourist of his valuables has been arrested after he went back to complain that the gold chain he stole was fake.

 

The 26-year-old Palmer was accused of stealing jewelry from a tourist in Miami Beach, Florida, but he was furious about the quality of the goods and returned to the victim to complain.

According to South Beach Police, Palmer allegedly pointed a gun at a tourist from New York, grabbed his gold chain and took off but apparently not satisfied with his newly stolen jewels, he went back to his victim 

just to say that the necklace was a fake.

The victim was then able to flag down a police officer and pointed out Palmer who was driving a Mercedes.

When the officer attempted to stop him, Palmer sped away but after a short police chase, he was arrested.

Palmer has been charged with armed robbery, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license, police said.

The 35-year-old Zimbabwe citizen, was found guilty of murdering 62-year-old Mbuyiselo Manona in cape Town last June after police found him eating his victim's heart.

Police spokesman, Frederick van Wyk said:

"On the scene, they found a suspect, a Zimbabwean national, busy eating the heart of a human with a knife and fork."

African Richest Man Dangote Ready To Relaunch Bid For Arsenal FC

Africa’s richest man and Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote, has confirmed his renewed interest in buying EPL club, Arsenal.



In an interview with Bloomberg, Dangote, who is a cement and commodities tycoon and is valued at around $15.7 billion, said he will make fresh attempts at buying the London club despite his rejected bid in 2010.

“I still hope, one day, at the right price, that I’ll buy the team. I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy.

“We have $16 billion-worth of investments in the next few years. Right now I want to take my own business to a certain level. Once I finish on that trajectory, then maybe [I’ll bid again for Arsenal],” the 58-year-old told Bloomberg.

American billionaire, Stan Kroenke, is currently the controlling shareholder at Arsenal with a 67% stake in the club.

Red & White Sec Ltd., controlled by Uzbek billionaire, Alisher Usmanov and Farhad Moshiri, are the second biggest shareholders with 30% of the Gunners.

Dangote is an ardent supporter of Arsenal, and has criticised Coach Arsene Wenger’s approach in the past, saying the 65-year-old “needs to change his style a bit” and warning that the club “needs new direction”.

Already, the planned move by Dangote is eliciting reactions as former Nigerian International, Joseph Dosu, said he would have preferred to see Dangote make such huge invest in the Nigerian League, than going abroad.

“I don’t know why we like to run to other countries to better them and not do so in our fathers land .We have Enyimba, Pillars , Shooting Stars and the likes here, I feel charity should begin at home but having said that, it is Dangote’s money so he has the final say on where he chooses to spend it,” Dosu
