Man Dies After Woman Bit Off His Private Part In Edo

THERE was pandemonium during the weekend, in Benin City, Edo State, after an unnamed middle aged man lost his life after a fight with a lady, who chopped off his private part.

 

The incident which occurred around Isihor area of the city shocked the residents, considering the way and manner the heated argument between the lady and the deceased resulted to bloodshed.

It was learned that the lady ran her SUV car into the deceased Honda SUV, a development which led to a shouting bout. The deceased, who was said to be in the company of his brother, reportedly slapped the woman several times which led to the fracas.

An eyewitness informed D'advertiser's “After the slap, the woman went straight to the man’s trousers and bite his private off and spat it on the tarred road to our greatest shock.”
We learned that the man gave up the ghost while he was being rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH.

Contacted, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Joseph Edoigiawerie, said the command was yet to be briefed on the incident.

Can Somebody Tell Baba Iyabo To Keep Quite - Obasanjo Attacks Jonathan Again, Accuses President Of Squandering Oil Savings

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has again launched a public attack on President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of squandering $25billion crude oil savings left behind by his administration.



Mr. Obasanjo made the allegation while hosting the South-West women leaders at his residence in Abeokuta Monday.

He said his administration left over $25 billion to his successor, Musa Yar’adua, who raised the sum to $35 billion.

Mr. Obasanjo said he also left $40billion in Nigeria’s foreign reserve account after paying the outstanding debt at the time.

He said former President Yar’adua also raised the reserves to $60billion.

Under President Jonathan, the reserves has plummeted to $40billion, Mr. Obasanjo said.

The new claims followed a series of public denunciation of Mr. Jonathan’s government by the former president.

In 2014, Mr. Obasanjo repeatedly lambasted the current government, accusing the president of promoting and tolerating corruption, and failing to provide security for Nigerians.

Mr. Obasanjo also released a book mid-December scolding the president as a self-centred politician who thinks less of the country and fraternises with corrupt and questionable characters.

In his comments on Monday, Mr. Obasanjo said he was not fighting the president, nor was Mr. Jonathan fighting him. He said he was more concerned about the interest of the country, and therefore cared less about criticisms.

“Our economy should not have been this bad. When I was leaving office about eight years ago, I left a very huge reserve after we had paid all our debts. Almost $25billion we kept in what they called excess crude.

The excess from the budget we were saving as reserve for the rainy days. When we left in May 2007, the reserve was said to have been raised to $35billion,” he said.

Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly having s*xual intercourse with a goat at Baranda forest in Dutse Local Government Area.



The 20-year-old boy, Malam Kamisu Baranda who was arrested by the village head and handed over to the police after asking the goat to have sex with him.

Kamisu who was said to have admitted to being the owner of the goat explained it was not his first time of having sex with animals inside the bush that he has done it over 10 times and as never been arrested.

Kamisu who seem to enjoy having sex with animals made a shocking revelation that the animals satisfy his sexual desire hence his reason for not being into women and making love to any woman in his area.

He said he regretted his action saying he knew it was an offence to a society and against the Islamic injunctions, he called on the court to do justice for him.

The chief magistrate’s court sitting in Dutse ordered boy, Malam Kamisu Baranda be remanded in prison for two weeks. Magistrate Auwalu Sani Balago said the accused person did not confess that he committed the act but the court remanded him to allow police make further inquiries.

Com​munal Clashes Claim Four Lives In Plateau

Four people were killed, while one was injured in communal clashes between Fulani herdsmen and Mwagahvuu speaking people of Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau state, local authorities said.​



The clashes occurred between December 31 2014 and January 2, 2015.

The Council chairman, Mangu Local Government, Caleb Mutfwang, made this known to journalists in Jos, on Saturday during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ press centre.

He said “the Fulanis mobilized at night and attacked some of the aforementioned communities with sporadic gun shots from all directions resulting in the death of four people and the burning of residential houses and property.”

“Credible witnesses confirmed that two young men riding on a motor cycle were ambushed and shot on their way home by unknown persons, while one escaped with a bullet wound, the other, named Longji Mikyes was murdered and beheaded,” Mr. Mutfwang said.

India Pledges To Assist Nigeria’s Nollywood: India’s Acting High Commissioner in Nigeria, Kaisar Alam

 India’s Acting High Commissioner in Nigeria, Kaisar Alam, on Sunday said the commission will facilitate collaboration between Nigeria’s movie industry, Nollywood, and its Indian counterpart, Bollywood.

Mr. Alam told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that the two countries’ film industries had a lot to contribute to their Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

He said that stakeholders in the film industries from Bollywood and Nollywood could partner or exchange programmes that would yield mutual benefits and promote better understanding between the two countries.

According to him, India is the second largest producer of films in the world, next only to Hollywood.

India’s Acting High Commissioner in Nigeria Kaisar Alam on Sunday said the trade volume between Nigeria and India reached 17 billion dollars from April 2013 to March 2014.



He said in Abuja that India imported 14 billion-dollar worth of goods from Nigeria during the year while Nigeria imported three billion-dollar worth of goods from India in the same period.

Alam explained that India was currently the largest importer of Nigeria’s crude oil, importing 12 billion-dollar worth of the product in the year under review.

“India imported 14 billion-dollar worth of goods from Nigeria from April 2013 to March 2014, including 12 billion-dollar worth of crude oil,’’ he said.

He also explained that with the reduction of U.S. import of Nigeria’s crude oil, India was currently Nigeria’s largest trading partner.

According to him, a large number of Indian companies and businesses have footprints in Nigeria, which have made substantial investments in Nigeria.

The envoy explained that the increasing trade relations between the two countries would boost trade volume in 2014-2015 fiscal year.

He said that the relations between the two countries had always been friendly, noting that “Nigeria is a very important country to India.’’

He expressed the optimism that the bilateral relations between Nigeria and India would improve significantly in the current year.(NAN)

Farmers Donate 5 Million Tubers Of Yam To Raise 5 Billion Naira For Buhari's Campaign

The statement said that the public presentation of the five million tubers of yam would hold at the Mararaban Demshin village yam market in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau on Jan. 4, 2015. It stated that the ceremony would also witness traditional wrestling involving 500 traditional wrestlers from the 19 northern states and the FCT.

 

A group of yam farmers cutting across some northern states in the country have pledged to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari’s campaign in the 2015 general elections with N5 billion.The group disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Tuesday.

Rev. Jacob Musa, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the farmers under the name “Buhari-Osibajo Presidential Appeal Campaign Fund (BOPCAF), said that farmers from 10 states of the federation were planning the fundraiser.

Musa said members drawn from Taraba, Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Niger and Kaduna states as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, would feature at the occasion.

He said that Prof. Emmanuel Garba, who lost the governorship primary of the APC in Plateau, was a founding father of the group.

“We have contributed five million tubers of yam to be donated in support of the funding of Buhari’s presidential campaign. The five million tubers of yam will be retailed at a special price of N1,000 each towards raising the sum of N5 billion in support of the APC candidate," it said.

It added that the event would be attended by Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers in his capacity as the Director-General of the Buhari-Osibajo Campaign Organisation on Jan. 2, 2014.

Muslims Did Not Protect Christians On Christmas Day—CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State on Wednesday debunked widely circulated reports that some Muslims protected Christians during Christmas service in Kaduna town. 

Reverend Sunday Ibrahim, the secretary of the Kaduna State chapter of CAN, made the refutation in a statement he released at a press briefing.

Mr. Ibrahim stated that it had nothing against genuine peace advocates, but added that it opposed the spreading of falsehood. The Christian organization declared that there was no single church in Kaduna that faced any attack that warranted protection. It also disclosed that the usual security agents were drafted to secure Christian worshippers on Christmas day.

“It has become imperative for us to clarify this falsehood and confusion in local and international media,” said the CAN spokesman. “Many of our members have been calling and asking questions whether a Church was protected from being attacked by Muslims in [the] Sabo area on Christmas day? And we said it is not true, and we don’t want people to create panic and dishing out [an] inciting story,” the statement continued.

Stomach Infrastructure: We Enjoyed Christmas With Gov Fayose’s Rice And Chicken — Ekiti Beneficiaries

When Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, during the inauguration of his second-coming told thousands of Ekiti people, who had converged at the popular Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti on October 16, last year that he would create a special ministry to be called Ministry of Stomach Infrastructures, many political observers within and outside the state took his words with a pinch of salt.

Condemnations poured in from several quarters, as many people who derided the governor for the announcement of a stomach infrastructure ministry argued that such was only a political statement that needed time to see how it goes.

No doubt, as expected the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state had accused Fayose of trying to degrade Ekiti people to perpetual beggars of sorts, by given them unsolicited gifts of rice,chickens and money.

But, following the successful exercise of the fulfillment of Fayose’s stomach infrastructure initiative this Christmas, it seems some states are now copying the concept which stirred controversies on arrival.

For Fayose, it seems he has remained resolute to achieve this objective to reducing hunger in Ekiti State, which he claims is a clear departure from the past administrations which satisfies majorly the interests of the few elites in the state during Christmas and other festivities.

Fayose’s welfarist programme is not new as records have it in his first reign as governor between 2001 and September 2003, he started the distribution of water through water tankers, kerosene, medical needs and money to the people of the state free.

So, few days to December 25, last year, Ado Ekiti, the state capital and its environs were agog, as thousands of Ekiti people stormed the Governor’s office to get their own share of the Christmas largesse.

Nigerian Army Dismisses 203 Soldiers After Secret Night Trial

The Nigerian Army has dismissed 203 soldiers after a secret court martial held in the dead of the night, for allegedly disobeying a direct order from their commanding officer, a direct order from their commanding officer.



One of the sacked soldiers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the soldiers were dismissed for asking for support equipment, following the army’s plan to convey them in a tipper for an operation in Bama and Gwoza, two strongholds of Boko Haram insurgents.

The soldier, who is originally of the 19th Battalion in Okitipupa in Ondo State, but attached to the 7th division in Maiduguri, said the army detained them for over 90 days before dismissing them after a midnight trial. He said they are owed up to five months in unpaid salaries.

Narrating the event that led to their dismissal, the soldier said his unit reconvened in Maiduguri last August, after they were dislodged by the insurgents in Damboa in an operation where their commanding officer and several other soldiers were killed.

He said they were given two weeks pass and that at the expiration of their pass, they were issued new uniforms, boots and 30 rounds of bullets each as opposed to the statutory 60 rounds. And were going to be conveyed in a tipper lorry to Gwoza and Bama for an operation.

He said having engaged the insurgents in several past battles, majority of the soldiers argued that the operation would be fierce, and therefore requested support equipment.

“So we asked for support weapons. No support weapon was provided. Our CO (Commanding Officer) said he would discuss with the GOC (General Officer Commanding) of the 7 Division at the headquarters.

When he came back, he said we should stand down. We thought all was well,” our source said.

But the request made by the soldiers fetched them more than they bargained for.

Dear Great People of our nation,



1. I greet and felicitate with you all as we enter the New Year today. As we mark the beginning of this New Year, 2015, a new nation is being born. A new nation is being born because of the foundations we have all laid, working together for the good and progress of our dear fatherland.


2. I join you all in thanking God Almighty who has brought us this far, for continually bestowing His Grace upon us and for guiding our great nation safely through all the challenges of the past year.

3. This year, as in the year past, I reaffirm my commitment to work to ensure a secure future for our dear country and the generations yet unborn.

4. Last year, we celebrated our hundredth year of nationhood. The year brought us further progress, challenges and fresh opportunities.

5. We have contended with the normal challenges of nation-building and the unusual challenges of terrorism.

6. But we have continued to vigorously confront those who seek to destroy the bonds of unity that hold us together.

7. On this first day of the New Year, I want to pay special tribute to the gallant officers, men and women of our Armed Forces and other security agencies who have been in the forefront of the war against terrorism and violent extremism in our country and sub-region.

Obasanjo The Root Of Nigeria’s Troubles – Adams

The national coordinator of the Odu’a Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams has blamed Former President Olusegun Obasanjo for laying the foundation of Nigeria’s current problems.



He said this while addressing newsmen on his fears about the 2015 presidential election. According to him, as things stand, it seems as if no matter who wins the presidential election between President Goodluck Jonathan and General Mohammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress (APC), violence will erupt in the country.

Adams explained that if Buhari loses next year’s election, crisis may erupt in the north, while the Niger Delta region may also erupt in violence if President Jonathan loses.

The OPC leader however claimed Obasanjo was responsible for Nigeria’s problems, most of which he said had their roots from the ex-president’s administration.

“The very cabal that Jonathan complained about was created by Obasanjo. All the problems that are existing in Nigeria today, the foundation was laid by Obasanjo,” he said

Jonathan Impeachment List Is Fake – APC Reps...Don't You Think This Guys Are Fools

Progressives Congress caucus in the House of Representatives has distanced itself from a list purported to have the signatures of lawmakers championing the impeachment of President Goodluck Jonathan.



A statement issued by the Minority Leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, described the list as “fake”.

A list of over 200 lawmakers from the House of Representatives, including principal officers of the House from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were published in some online platforms as those that had signed the president’s impeachment list. But the PDP caucus has also since denounced the list as a scam.

According to Gbajabiamila, the real list would be made public soon.
The statement reads:

“The general public is hereby advised to disregard a fake impeachment list published by some online publicists for obvious sinister intentions.

“None of our APC members in the House of Representatives is party to the fake impeachment list.

“The authentic impeachment list would be published in due course and we urge our constituents across the country to be so guided”.

Woman Caught With Bomb Under Hijab At Hospital Full Of Kano Bomb Blasts Victims

A lady dressed in the Muslim Burkah with a bomb under her robe was caught at Murtala Specialist Hospital Kano, where the escaping victims of Friday’s terrorist attack treat.

 

The woman was pretending to pay a visit to a sick patient. She was dressed in hijab niqaf with socks. Under her hijab she had a bomb strapped.

According to report the bomb was directly disabled by security people at the site and the lady was set on fire.

The woman was said to have been accompanied by two armed men who were waiting for the bomb to be exploded, to again start shooting on the escaping victims.

This comes two days after terrorist attacks on the Kano central Mosque where over 200 worshipers were killed.

Murtala specialist hospital is one of the hospitals receiving victims of the deadly Mosque attack.

The Kano Central Mosque had been closed down for the first time in its 400 year old history.

It was reported earlier today that according to a victim of the Kano Central Mosque attack, Malam Shehu Ahmed, has said that a strange white man detonated remotely.

In a statement released by Reuben Abati, the presidential spokesperson, President Goodluck Jonathan extends heartfelt condolences to the people and Government of Kano State. President has also directed the security agencies to launch a full-scale investigation and to leave no stone unturned.
