I was supposed to be on a few days leave. My boss called me and asked me to come in for a meeting. I went to the office early to get other things done. I started hearing music outside so I thought an activation was going on.
I was in my meeting with my team and I got dragged out to see what my colleague called ‘ the new company advert’.
I saw 5 dancers dancing.
I didn't understand. But it had been a weird day cos I’ve been getting calls from friends I have not heard from in years. Everyone being super nice.
They danced for about 10mins. .
Then 4 of the dancers opened their shirts and underneath had white shirts with the inscriptions OLUCHI, WILL, YOU, MARRY and the boo came out with a shirt saying ME.
And I said YES!

Kenyan 90-Year-Old Great Grandmother Enrols In Primary School - Oga Buhari You Too Can Still Enrol For WASC

woman who has served her rural Kenyan village as a midwife for the past
65 years has returned to primary school along with six of her
great-great-grandchildren.
Priscilla Sitienei, 90, is believed to be the oldest primary school
pupil in the world.
She enrolled at Leaders Vision Preparatory School in the Rift Valley village of Ndalat five years ago, with the intention of finally learning to read and write.
Affectionately known as "Gogo", which means grandmother in the local Kalenjin language, Mrs Sitienei grew up under British colonial masters and never had the chance to go to school. She said she wants to be able to read the Bible, pass on her midwifery skills and write down the herbal remedies she uses in births.
She also hopes to inspire those younger than her – including her own classmates, aged between 10 and 14, some of whom she delivered as babies.
"Too many older children are not in school. They even have children themselves," she told the BBC. "They tell me they are too old. I tell them, 'Well I am at school and so should you'.
" Mrs Sitienei follows in the footsteps of the late Kimani Maruge, 84, who became the subject of a British-produced film called The First Grader, when he enrolled in a primary school in Eldoret, Kenya, after the government announced the roll-out of free and universal primary education in 2003.

What's Happening - Ex-MBGN Queen Dies At 24
A former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria,
MBGN, queen has died. The pretty lady, Esther Kanu, represented Abia
State at the 2013 edition of MBGN.
She kicked the bucket on Wednesday, January 7, 2014, at the age of 24.
It was learnt that last Esther suddenly slumped and was rushed to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead by a doctor.
There are uncertainties over the cause
of her demise, but there are reports in some quarters that she may have
died a of heart related disease.
Already, the police have reportedly commenced investigation into her death.

His death was announced on Saudi state TV by a presenter who said the king died at 1 a.m. on Friday.
Abdullah came to the throne in 2005 but had suffered frequent bouts of ill health in recent years.
Services will be held Friday afternoon at the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Grand Mosque in Riyadh, and many world leaders are likely to pay their respects.

What A Pity - Fire Burns Six-Year-Old Child To Death In Enugu
The Police in Enugu on Wednesday confirmed the death of a six-year-old
child, Sochimaobi Nwatu, in a fire incident which occurred on January
17, at Awkunanaw, Enugu.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ebere Amaraizu.
It said the incident which occurred at No. 9, Umueze St. Awkunanaw, gutted two flats in a two- storey building.
“It was discovered that the child was burnt to death during the incident.
“The police are yet to identify the cause of the incident because investigation is ongoing,’’ the statement said.

Buhari this morning cleared the air on the West Africa School
Certificate (WASC) controversy, describing it as the handiwork of
mischief makers.
Speaking at the Kano State Government House, Buhari said he graduated at Provisional Secondary School,Katsina in 1961 with many prominent Nigerians including late Shehu Musa Yar'Adu and Justice Umar Abdullahi, a former president of Court of Appeal.
He said they sat for the WASC with the two prominent personalities. He gave his examination number as 820002 and that he passed the examination with the second division.
" I assumed all along that all my records were in the custody of the military secretary of the Nigerian Army but to my surprise we were all told that although a record of the result is available, there are no copies of the certificate in my personal file. This is why I have formally requested my old school, the Provincial secondary school, katsina which is now known as Government college, katsina to make available the school's copy of the result of the Cambridge West Africa School certificate," he said.
Flanked by his running mate Professor Yomi Osinbajo, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, he said the certificate will be made available to press.
He urged journalists to investigate the veracity of his claim at the Government College, Katsina.

WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER 5YRS OLD SON CAUGHT HER HAVING SEX IN MATRIMONIAL BED WITH CO-WORKER
A woman from Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, reportedly took her own life after her 5-year-old son caught her having sex with one of her co-worker in her matrimonial home at Abuja.
According to the husband of the deceased, his wife was a very cute lady and that attracted men to her.
The woman used to show him some men that wanted to be her friends because of her beauty.
Their son also reported so many cases of the woman going home with different men to him but he never bothered to ask her about their son’s report because the lady was very decent before they got married, that made him to trust her so much.
The husband said he was amazed when he came home yesterday and his son told him that he saw his mother and uncle( the woman’s co-worker) on the bed half naked.
He thought the boy was not serious but he got to believe when he saw how his wife was behaving.
She refused to talk to him, she even insisted on sleeping in visitor’s room instead of their normal room.
He said he was about to go to work in the morning today, he called the woman to tell her he was ready to go to work, there was no response, he called her line, the phone was ringing but she was not picking.
When he went to the window to tell her, he saw her hanging, she was already dead.
Her remains will be taken to Ozoro tomorrow.

Nollywood actor Muna Obiekwe on Sunday, 18 January 2015, passed away after
battling with a kidney disease. According to reports, the late actor
kept his ailment a secret and couldn't get enough money for his
treatment.
Following Muna's death, some of his fans took to social media platforms to attack the Actors Guild of Nigeria's (AGN) president, Ibinabo Fiberesima, after she paid a touching tribute to the late Muna Obiekwe on Facebook.
Ibinabo replied fans that accused the Guild Association of abandoning her members.
She said, “We never ignore our members. If we are informed of a situation we take action. Pls like I said lets Pray not Curse. We have gone out of our way to help non-Guild members talk more of our own.
We never neglet anyone. We have an active insurance plan. We have begged our members and still begging them to revalidate their membership and join the health plan.
There is only so much anyone can do. Muna was revalidated and on d health plan. Pls lets beware of what we say, if we dont have the facts pls.

According to reports, the actress, Mercy Johnson was paid by the marketer March last year to star in his movie that kicked-off production in April, but she abandoned the production after few days and featuring in just few scenes.
The filmmaker claim Mercy’s excuse for leaving the movie set was for her to go spend the Easter holidays with her family and will return after a day or two, but never returned again till date.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Tuesday, publicly disagreed with President Goodluck Jonathan over the statement that his generation has failed Nigeria, saying “You (Jonathan) failed Nigeria because my generation did not fail this country.”
President Jonathan made the statement last Thursday while addressing youth at the flag-off of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP campaign held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS Lagos.
Fashola however reacted at the 2015, First Quarter of the Town Hall meeting with stakeholders in the transportation sector held in Agidingbi, Ikeja, which also had in attendance Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and others.
The governor urged Jonathan to accept responsibility over his failure to address the challenges confronting the nation over the last six years of his administration rather than point accusing fingers to past leaders, “late President Musa Yar ‘Adua’s short tenure was better than that of this administration.”
Fashola said; “He (Jonathan) said his generation has failed, he should account for himself because I refuse to join the generation the President was referring to.

2. Atiku Abubakar – 8 years Vice president under PDP.
3. George Akume – 8 years Governor under PDP.
4. Bukola Saraki – 8 years Governor; 2 years, Senator under PDP.
5. Timipre Sylver – 4 years Governor under PDP.
6. Audu Ogbe – 2 years Chairmanship of the PDP.
7. Aminu Masari – 4 years as the Speaker, House of Representativesunder PDP.
8. Chris Ngige – 3 years Governor under PDP.
9. Rabiu Kwankwaso – 7 years Governor; 3 years Defense minister under PDP.
10. El Rufai – 4 years FCT Minister; 2 years BPE chairman under PDP.
11. And to cap it all, Obasanjo is the navigator of the APC, a man who spent 8 of the disastrous 16 years as
the maximum ruler of Nigeria.
It is now clearer that APC is a waste basket of the PDP, where the people who created and perpetuated the 16 disastrous years are now dumped. So where is the change coming from? Are they now saints because they joined APC?

Ethiopian Cargo Airplane Crash Lands At Ghana’s Kotoka Airport
An Ethiopian Airlines cargo aircraft on Saturday skidded off the runway
at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on landing, Ghanaian airport
officials said.
This is contained in statement issued by the Ghana Airport Company (GAC) in Accra.
“All three crew people on board the aircraft survived the accident and are currently responding to treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.
“The Boeing 737, ET-AQV (Ethiopian Airline Cargo Aircraft), operated by Asky Airlines, was landing at the Ghanaian national airport from the Togolese capital Lome when the accident took place at 11:05 a.m. local time.
“The cause of the accident is still unknown and the country’s emergency teams are on the site of the accident.
“The teams include the Ghana National Fire Service; National Disaster Management Organization; Ghana
Armed Forces; Ghana Police, National Security; Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and the GAC, it said.
The statement assured that there were normal operations going on at the airport and flights were “operating on schedule”.
Flights at the airport were rescheduled on Friday due to poor visibility as a result of the Harmattan (North-Easterly cold Winds) with its hazy weather.
On June 2, 2012, an Allied Air Cargo plane overshot the runway at the KIA, killing 10 passengers in a commercial passenger bus adjacent the airport.

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC,
Yemi Osinbajo, has unfolded plans by his party to introduce a social
security scheme for every elderly or disabled Nigerian, just as he
promised that an APC-led Federal Government will provide 720,000 jobs in
its first year, if elected come February 14.
Mr. Osinbajo disclosed this on Thursday in Benin City when he met with the people of Edo State where he articulated the position of the APC in its quest to effect change in the social and economic life of Nigerians.
Addressing a large crowd at Imaguero College Hall, Mr. Osinbajo said, “For the first time in the history of Africa, we are introducing a social security scheme. It means the elderly who are poor and the disabled will be given stipends.
“Now the reason why that is important is because our country has continued to be one of the poorest 35 countries in the world despite our resources. We have 110 million people who are extremely poor, so we need to lift people out of poverty,” he said.
He added that the APC will ensure that state governments will, with the backing of the Federal Government that has 52% of the revenue control, employ 20,000 young persons per state acting as an emergency relief.
“If we do not tackle that emergency, we will run into trouble because as you can see, there is a lot of youth restlessness. You will notice that unless we do something about this, we will be in great trouble.
“We are turning people out of the universities; graduates are coming out from all sorts of tertiary institutions.
We are not engaging them, it is important that we find solutions and the APC has set out a solution today,” he said.

Ekiti Landlords Rush To Meet Fayose’s February deadline On Toilet
House owners without toilet facility in Ikole, Ekiti State, are now
speeding up efforts to meet the February deadline given by the state
government to provide the facility in their home.
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti had in December 2014 given a two-month ultimatum to owners of residential buildings without toilet to build one or face prosecution.
Some of the affected landlords have begun to dig soak away pits while bricklayers are working on erection of structure to be used.
Some landlords who are yet to commence construction of toilets attributed the delay to scarcity of labourers for the job.
They are, however, optimistic that the project would be completed before the end of February as directed by the governor to avoid being sanctioned.
John Ayeni, one of the affected landlords, said the order was for their own benefit, adding that he had just finished the construction of toilet at the back of his house.
“What remains is to get plumber that will do the finishing works,” Mr. Ayeni said.
A landlady, Olajubutu Arinola, said the deadline issued by the state government “had fast tracked the payment of 2015 house rent by tenants which assisted me to have enough money for the project.”

Man With Knife In Skull ‘Wasn’t Aware Of It’ For Hours
When a Brazilian taxi driver got into a free for all bar brawl, he
didn’t know when the fight actually came to a head and he got stabbed in
the head and it took him more than three hours before he realized he’s
been stabbed.
Juacelo Nunes de Oliveira, 39, was stabbed during an argument, and it took more than three hours before he realized there was ablade running through his skull to his jaw bone, CNN reports.
Oliveira was at a party in Agua Branca last Sunday when he was stabbed four times; three times in the torso — one of which perforated a lung — and once in the head. He was driven to a nearby hospital and transferred to an emergency facility in Teresina, 62 miles away.
“He had the knife lodged in his head for this whole period but he was not aware of it,” Dr. Gilberto Albuquerque told CNN. “We believe the shock and a bit of the drinking may have helped him not to understand the knife was still in his head.”
X-ray photos released by the military to CNN and Globo show the knife protruding from behind his left eye. Albuquerque said the knife stopped only when it struck the victim’s lower jaw.
Doctors told 9News that Oliveira is lucky to be alive.

Man Dies After Woman Bit Off His Private Part In Edo
THERE was pandemonium during the weekend, in Benin City, Edo State,
after an unnamed middle aged man lost his life after a fight with a

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has again launched a public attack on
President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of squandering $25billion
crude oil savings left behind by his administration.
Mr. Obasanjo made the allegation while hosting the South-West women leaders at his residence in Abeokuta Monday.
He said his administration left over $25 billion to his successor, Musa Yar’adua, who raised the sum to $35 billion.
Mr. Obasanjo said he also left $40billion in Nigeria’s foreign reserve account after paying the outstanding debt at the time.
He said former President Yar’adua also raised the reserves to $60billion.
Under President Jonathan, the reserves has plummeted to $40billion, Mr. Obasanjo said.
The new claims followed a series of public denunciation of Mr. Jonathan’s government by the former president.
In 2014, Mr. Obasanjo repeatedly lambasted the current government, accusing the president of promoting and tolerating corruption, and failing to provide security for Nigerians.
Mr. Obasanjo also released a book mid-December scolding the president as a self-centred politician who thinks less of the country and fraternises with corrupt and questionable characters.
In his comments on Monday, Mr. Obasanjo said he was not fighting the president, nor was Mr. Jonathan fighting him. He said he was more concerned about the interest of the country, and therefore cared less about criticisms.
“Our economy should not have been this bad. When I was leaving office about eight years ago, I left a very huge reserve after we had paid all our debts. Almost $25billion we kept in what they called excess crude.
The excess from the budget we were saving as reserve for the rainy days. When we left in May 2007, the reserve was said to have been raised to $35billion,” he said.

Communal Clashes Claim Four Lives In Plateau
Four people were killed, while one was injured in communal clashes
between Fulani herdsmen and Mwagahvuu speaking people of Mangu Local
Government Area in Plateau state, local authorities said.
The clashes occurred between December 31 2014 and January 2, 2015.
The Council chairman, Mangu Local Government, Caleb Mutfwang, made this known to journalists in Jos, on Saturday during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ press centre.
He said “the Fulanis mobilized at night and attacked some of the aforementioned communities with sporadic gun shots from all directions resulting in the death of four people and the burning of residential houses and property.”
“Credible witnesses confirmed that two young men riding on a motor cycle were ambushed and shot on their way home by unknown persons, while one escaped with a bullet wound, the other, named Longji Mikyes was murdered and beheaded,” Mr. Mutfwang said.

India’s Acting High Commissioner in Nigeria, Kaisar Alam, on Sunday said

industry, Nollywood, and its Indian counterpart, Bollywood.
Mr. Alam told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that the two countries’ film industries had a lot to contribute to their Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He said that stakeholders in the film industries from Bollywood and Nollywood could partner or exchange programmes that would yield mutual benefits and promote better understanding between the two countries.
According to him, India is the second largest producer of films in the world, next only to Hollywood.
Mr. Alam told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that the two countries’ film industries had a lot to contribute to their Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He said that stakeholders in the film industries from Bollywood and Nollywood could partner or exchange programmes that would yield mutual benefits and promote better understanding between the two countries.

India’s Acting High Commissioner in Nigeria Kaisar Alam on Sunday said the
trade volume between Nigeria and India reached 17 billion dollars from
April 2013 to March 2014.
He said in Abuja that India imported 14 billion-dollar worth of goods from Nigeria during the year while Nigeria imported three billion-dollar worth of goods from India in the same period.
Alam explained that India was currently the largest importer of Nigeria’s crude oil, importing 12 billion-dollar worth of the product in the year under review.
“India imported 14 billion-dollar worth of goods from Nigeria from April 2013 to March 2014, including 12 billion-dollar worth of crude oil,’’ he said.
He also explained that with the reduction of U.S. import of Nigeria’s crude oil, India was currently Nigeria’s largest trading partner.
According to him, a large number of Indian companies and businesses have footprints in Nigeria, which have made substantial investments in Nigeria.
The envoy explained that the increasing trade relations between the two countries would boost trade volume in 2014-2015 fiscal year.
He said that the relations between the two countries had always been friendly, noting that “Nigeria is a very important country to India.’’
He expressed the optimism that the bilateral relations between Nigeria and India would improve significantly in the current year.(NAN)
